Replacing the main image on swatch click or option select
With Product Varations, you can set a product up so that the product image can change when a swatch or option is selected. If using swatches the swatch can be a different image from the one that replaces the main product image.
To replace Product images on Swatch click
- Add the required product variation
- Add an image to the variation via the blue image icon.
When the variation is selected, the image will be replaced with that assigned to the variation.
The variation image will also appear under the main image as a thumbnail.
If your Product Variation has more than one value e.g. Size and Colour, both options must be selected for the required variation image to show.
Display Issue with Variation Images
(when Product Image Preference set to SELECTED COLOUR SWATCH)
If using Product Variation Images you should look not use the Display Setting > Product Image Preference to Selected Colour Swatch.
This will cause a conflict where the system to try and replace the main product image with the Product Variation Image AND the Colour Swatch.
You should look to use one approach or the other.
