Adding a currency converter

There are 2 options for currency conversion, either you can provide your customers with a real time currency convertor that will indicate an approximate value of a transaction in their local currency... or you can preenter some fixed currency conversions, and actually allow the customer to checkout in their chosen currency. This later option is subject to you being able to accept payment in those currencies.

To add fixed currency conversions:

  1. Click "edit" under your blue shopping page button
  2. Click the grey "Setup" button on the top right menu
  3. Select "Currencies and Tax" from the list
  4. Enter your currency conversions at the bottom of that screen.
  5. Then click "Save Changes"

To add a currency convertor link to shopping carts:

  1. Click "edit" under your blue shopping page button
  2. Click the grey "Setup" button on the top right menu
  3. Select "Display options" from the list
  4. Select XE.com, Google or other link beside the dropdown box titled "Currency Conversion" (see note below)
  5. Then click "Save Changes"

There will also be a hot link to price conversion on individual product pages, then a hot link to convert the total price of the order on the checkout confirmation page. Note the currency converter will give your clients an indication of what the converted price may be, but the final amount will vary depending on which payment method they use etc.|

Note: The Google links are preset to convert from NZ$ to US$, if this doesn't suit you use the XE.com option as this allows your client to choose both the "to" and "from" currency.
