DMARC Reports

DMARC reports indicate how well your emails are delivering. They indicate the processing results of third party mail servers, as to how many emails were accepted or rejected based on which IP sent the email.

Colour coded fail responses help you find the issues faster.

We will attempt to identify the name of the sender host for well known mail providers. If the host remains blank or shows a question mark, then you may need to use a IP WHOIS service to determine the real owner of the IP.

You should not worry about small numbers of failures, as the system is working well in preventing unauthorised senders. Hackers will always try, we cannot stop that, but we can report the success of failed delivery of such emails.

The sender host is how we identify if a service is not properly configured and a service that should be allowed to send on your behalf has not been allowed to. eg if you see lots of failures from Gmail or Mailchimp, and those are services you actually use, then this would indicate you have more work to do setting up your SPF / DKIM rules.

The nature of this area is technical, and the purpose of our reports is to be helpful. There is no free support for explaining the meaning of the reports, nor free support for helping you configure your DNS. Third party IT services companies might charge at least $150 to setup your DNS, and third party DMARC reporting companies charge US$17+ a month. We provide the reports for free.
