Free Photo Resizing Program - Infranview

IrfanView is a fast and simple image viewer and editor that supports all major graphic formats, including BMP, DIB, JPEG, GIF, animated GIF, PNG, PCX, multipage TIFF, and TGA. In addition, it features drag-and-drop support, directory viewing, TWAIN support, slide shows, batch conversion, and modifications, such as color depth, crop, blur, resize and sharpen.

Version 4.2 features a host of updates, including new thumbnail window option: Load thumbs from all subfolders; alpha blending effect added for slideshow/fullscreen; support for HDR and 3GP formats.

 
 

Use InfranView for easy image editing

Welcome to the Infran view image viewer and editor... this great little program is perfect for preparing your images for use on the internet.
Although this program is small it comes with some great utilities to manage all your images, easily.

The most obvious advantage of this tool is its easy image resizing capabilities.

You can resize by measurement or percentage, it also provides some standard preset sizes
But easy re-sizing is just one small aspect of this program, you can enhance colours, reduce redeye, convert to greyscale and much more
Infran also comes with 10 preset filters that can achieve some great enhancements to your images. there is also the ability to import other filters.
 
WARNING: Don't forget to "SAVE AS". This program does not warn you if you havn't saved... You should save the reduced file with a new file name, perhaps with a suffix like "yourimage-web.jpg" or "yourimage-small.jpg"





Click here to download, this will take you to the page where you can download the file... select the 'Download Now' link
   
You will get a notification box asking you to run or save the file... select 'Save'
   
Select the location on your computer that you would like to save the file.
   
When the file has downloaded you will be prompted to run or open the folder where the file has downloaded... select 'Run'
   
You will then get a verification prompt asking if you are sure you want run this setup program... select 'Run'
   

You will then be asked if you would like to create shortcuts to your desktop and start menu... select the ones you require.

Also select if you want this program available for all users or only for you.

And confirm the directory for this program to be installed to, program files is the default and the most appropriate... select 'Next'.
   
You will then get a list of whats new and available in this version, select 'next' if and when you want to read this.
   
You will now be asked what files you want associated with this program, JPG and GIF are recommended but it doesnt hurt to select the whole lot... select 'Next' once you have made your choices.
   
You will then be asked if you want to install "Google Desktop Search", this will index all files on your computer for easy searching... this is completely optional and does not affect how Infran works... if you are unsure then select the "Dont Install Google Desktop Search" option and then select 'Next'.
   
You will then get a "Ready to Install" window comfirming the location of installation... select 'Next'.
   
If you decided to install "Google Desktop Search" then you will get this "Installation Succesfull" notice. select 'Done'if you did not install then you will get the notification below
   
And here is the notification with no "Google Desktop Search" installed... keep 'Open InfranView FAQs help page' and Start InfranView selected... select 'Done'.
   
Done! you will see the Infranview program and the help FAQ open... the FAQ window is a great resource to get you started with the basics of this great little program.
